The name Liberty Hall signifies the family's open-door concept of hospitality where guests were free to relax and children were at liberty to play and explore. This gracious welcome continues today as the current generation operates a bed and breakfast inn. Overnight accommodations include four bedrooms with en-suite baths and two bedrooms with access to the house bath.
Mornings begin with a full plantation breakfast in the dining room, the home's largest room. This classic Greek Revival plantation has been the home of John Robert McDowell and his descendants since it was built in 1850. Only slight alterations have been made to the floor plan, and family heirlooms sit where they've been enjoyed for generations. We are proud to announce that Liberty Hall was voted "Best Bed & Breakfast in Alabama" for 2021 by the readers of Alabama Magazine.
